Exposure Checklist

The socialisation window for puppies is an important time. It closes at around 16 weeks. Before this time this is when our puppies are most curious and optimistic. This is the perfect time to introduce and expose them to as many of the normal things they are likely to experience in life as they grow up. We don't want to over do it, but a couple of things a day in a controlled way would serve you well. We want these experiences to be neutral, so they are just very mundane and no big deal. Or to be positive so the puppy has good feelings about these things.

This list is helpful for adult dogs too but we must be mindful that an adult dog may already have feelings or possibly negative experiences with some of these things and we may need to introduce them slowly or from a greater distance to begin with.
